Education built around the needs of young people.
Award-winning alternative education provision across Bristol, with eight specialist centres for children and young people from Year 1 through to Post 16.
Our ethos
At Discovery Education Centres, our ethos is simple: children and young people deserve the opportunity to become the best version of themselves. We provide this opportunity through a variety of personalised education and training programmes, all of which are led by a team of highly trained, experienced and motivated individuals. We cater for students from Year 1 through to Post 16.
We aim to build resilient, independent and well-rounded students through our bespoke yet varied programmes. Our specialised centres give our students a platform to discover new skills in a way they haven't been able to before.

Staff training and standards
Discovery owns the relationship with schools and councils as an organisation, not as individuals. Here is how we keep the standard consistent across every centre.
Training and qualifications
Every staff member is trained and qualified in: First Aid at Work, full DBS checks, Safeguarding level 2, Food Hygiene level 2, Fire Safety Awareness, Equality and Diversity, PREVENT training and Covid-19 Prevention.
Qualified teachers
Our staff include qualified teachers and subject specialists who lend their expertise across all eight centres.
Continuous CPD
Staff continuously develop and update their skills to provide the safest, best and most up-to-date experiences. All activities are risk assessed and equipment is regularly checked and serviced.
Working with schools
We stay in regular contact with schools and local authorities, share termly target sheets, summary forms and safeguarding paperwork and attend annual reviews. Goals are designed by our SEMH-specialist qualified teachers and drawn from existing EHCPs.
What schools say
"The staff threw themselves wholeheartedly into finding out the best ways in which they could support 'K'. There was good, steady communication with school throughout the week so it always felt like we were on the same page in terms of getting the very best for — and out of — K during her time with them."
