Welcome to The Lodge

The Lodge is a Primary and Secondary centre in Brentry, with our own kitchen, a large hall, an acre of private outdoor space and quiet rooms. Students can interact with peers, or use quiet spaces if they feel anxious or overwhelmed.

The Lodge is designed to meet a wide variety of student needs, with multiple learning spaces and equipment indoors and outdoors. Numbers are kept low, with a maximum of five students per day, so students can learn independently or in small groups.

The outdoor space suits students who need to move around. It includes sports equipment and a private bushcraft area where students can express themselves.

Who The Lodge is for

The Lodge works best for children who:

  • Have struggled with the size or pace of mainstream classrooms
  • Are anxious about school and need a calm, predictable environment
  • Have an EHCP, or are being assessed for one
  • Need re-engagement with learning before transition back to mainstream
  • Benefit from small-group teaching and 1:1 support
  • Are working below age-related expectations and need to rebuild basics

Our team is highly trained. Every staff member holds:

Our team continuously develops and updates their skills to provide the safest, best and most up to date experiences for the young people in our care.

All activities are risk assessed and equipment is regularly checked and serviced. We are lucky to have a highly trained and enthusiastic team at Discovery, including qualified teachers and subject specialists who lend their expertise to students across all our centres.
